How Long Does Furniture Delivery Take in the UAE?
Quick answer
For made-to-order furniture shipped from our factories, plan 20–35 working days door to door inside the UAE, including sea freight, Jebel Ali clearance and last-mile delivery. In-stock items in Dubai are typically delivered in 3–7 working days.
If you have a move-in date, order 6–8 weeks ahead and give us the date at the point of order. The two things that most often push a delivery are villa move-in permits and building lift bookings — both are arranged by you, not the courier.

The timeline, stage by stage
| Stage | Typical duration | Who owns it |
|---|---|---|
| Order confirmation and production slot | 1–3 working days | Us |
| Manufacturing (made-to-order) | 10–18 working days | Factory |
| Sea freight to Jebel Ali | 7–12 days | Freight forwarder |
| Customs clearance and duty | 2–5 working days | Us (DDP) |
| Warehouse handling and QC | 1–2 working days | Us |
| Last-mile delivery and assembly | 1–3 working days | Delivery partner |
| Villa move-in permit / gate pass | 2–7 working days | You, with developer/community |
Add these up and 20–35 working days is the honest range for made-to-order. Anything quoted at 7 days for a custom sofa is either already in stock or optimistic.
What actually delays a delivery in the UAE
- No lift booking: towers require a service-lift slot; without it the crew waits in the lobby.
- Villa move-in permit: many Dubai communities (and all Abu Dhabi developments) require a permit before any furniture crosses the gate.
- Gate pass for the delivery vehicle: unregistered trucks are turned away at community entrances.
- Ramadan and Eid: shorter working hours and higher demand in the last ten days of Ramadan.
- Friday afternoon: most crews stop between 12:00 and 14:00 for prayer.
- Address ambiguity: 'Villa 12, Al Barsha' is not an address. Send the pin, the community name and the unit number.
Delivery day: what to expect
A two-person crew, a protected route through common areas, and assembly of beds, dining tables and sofas on site. Standard delivery includes placement in the room of your choice and removal of packaging. It does not usually include wall-mounting, drilling, or moving existing furniture out of the way — tell us in advance if you need either.
Inspect before the crew leaves. Check corners, seams, stone edges and drawer runners, and photograph anything you are unsure about while the packaging is still there. It is much easier to resolve a mark on day one than in week three.
Planning around a move-in date
Work backwards from the date you actually sleep in the apartment, not the handover date. Handover, snagging, DEWA connection and building access often consume two weeks on their own. Order furniture once you have the keys and a confirmed access date; schedule delivery for 3–5 days after you move in so the apartment is clean and clear.
What to do if your move-in date moves
Handover dates slip. If yours does, tell us as soon as you know — not on the delivery morning. A confirmed order can usually be held in our warehouse for two to three weeks at no cost; a truck already loaded cannot.
- More than 3 weeks out: hold the order, keep the production slot, reschedule delivery only.
- 1–3 weeks out: hold in warehouse, confirm the new date in writing.
- Under a week: we may need to re-route the truck; there can be a re-delivery fee.
- Already delivered and the apartment is not ready: store the boxes flat, keep them off exterior walls, and do not unwrap upholstery until the AC is running.
